The shopping mall has around 270 shops as well as the largest gastronomy area in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>BTB was commissioned to excavate what was at that time the largest inner-city excavation in Europe. We removed 800,000 tons or 400,000 m\u00b3 of earth. At peak times, a truck with 26 tons of excavated earth left the construction site every minute.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the unbelievable size of the excavation pit, the U-Bahn (subway) line 2 that crossed over the site was also a particular challenge. It ran at a depth of 10 meters, whereas the construction pit was 20 meters deep and therefore had to be excavated around the tunnel. The subway ceiling was carefully removed with a concrete cutting wheel, while the subway was still in operation! 20 years earlier, we had already demonstrated our skills in such a complicated demolition when the U5 was built.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section
